Local television viewers in Pitkin County may have noticed recent updates to their over-the-air channel lineup over the last couple of weeks. If you have seen changes in your guide or while tuning in, your equipment is operating correctly—these adjustments reflect updates made directly at the broadcast source.
What Changed?
The specific changes to the local lineup are as follows:
- Channel 4-3: Formerly Escape, is now broadcasting QVC2.
- Channel 4-4: Formerly Grit, is now broadcasting Quest.
How Over-the-Air Signals Work in Pitkin County
These programming updates originated with KFQX out of Grand Junction, which made the decision to change the content they transmit. Pitkin County Telecommunications operates a local translator network that picks up these signals and retransmits them locally to deliver over-the-air television to our mountain communities.
Our Role and Limitations
While we maintain the translator infrastructure to deliver reliable signals to your home, Pitkin County Telecommunications has no control, influence, or prior notification regarding programming or network changes made by originating broadcast stations like KFQX. We understand that unannounced lineup changes can be frustrating, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.
Thank you for being part of our community,
The Pitkin County Telecommunications Team
